Mind, brain, and educations (MBE) or educational neuroscience is the intersection of different fields such as neuroscience, psychology, pedagogy and education. The goal of MBE is to understand how mind and brain influence learning so as to improve educational outcomes for all children.
Brain anatomy and its functioning depend on genes. Therefore, there is strong evidence that genetics influence learning processes. Positive and negative experiences as well as rich or poor environments affect cognitive development, psychosocial development and physical development.
As we learn, our brains change. Therefore, educators as well as parents should become literate about how mind, brain, genetics/ biology, environments, and experiences influence intelligence and behavior.
Different parts of the brain grow and develop at different pace so understanding brain will help teachers to match instruction to a child’s brain maturity choose appropriate strategies.
As the founder of BIM, I began to hit the books about genetics/ biology, mind, brain, environments, and experiences from 2017. I put in practice the latest findings about MBE and since then the results of my trainees have been phenomenal. The field mind, brain, genetics, environment, experiences, and education has become my obsession.
